“I felt a little awkward, as it was my first time volunteering at SASCO Hong San. I was meeting new faces and wasn’t sure how the residents would feel about me. Thanks to SASCO’s introduction to the institution, I gained a better understanding of how the system works—how the home manages its residents and daily routines. This helped me empathize with the residents and appreciate the welfare home more deeply.
